State of Nature Report 2023

We could get despondent about the 2023 State of Nature report. After all, this year’s figures show that 1 in 6 species have declined across the UK since 1970 and almost 1,500 are at risk of being lost.

Or we could take solace from the fact that the report also shows that existing work to protect natural habitats is having clear benefits, and continue to do our bit.

We know orchards help support many of those species at risk – from bats and bees to predatory insects like ladybirds and beetles. Our work to create and restore even more of these vital habitats continues.

We choose to act. Are you with us?
