Tree-planting efforts need not cease this autumn/winter because of social distancing! We’ve collaborated with a coalition of national tree-related organisations on a new guide, published this week.
Increasing the UK’s tree coverage is essential for regenerating wildlife habitats, cooling the climate, capturing CO2 and for our wellbeing. So it’s vital that the momentum of last year’s wide-reaching National Tree Week campaign is not lost.
With the Government’s ‘England Tree Strategy’ falling woefully short on the targets required, we hope that community groups will continue their sterling efforts and not be discouraged by the pandemic. We believe these new guidelines will help people to gather safely and continue improving local greenspaces and orchards.
