As part of National Tree Week The Orchard Project is teaming up with the Mayor of London to run a Community Orchard Summit and Microfunder, open to anyone interested in community orchards!
This free event takes places on Sunday 24th November, 12 to 5pm, at Redmond Community Centre near Manor House in north London.
Come and enjoy workshops in Orchard Wildlife and Forest Gardening, buffet lunch and cider tasting with Ian White of the Campaign for Real Ale, and the chance to meet and be inspired by like-minded groups.
Community groups wanting to create an orchard (5 or more fruit trees) or improve an existing community orchard can also pitch to win £400 and some fruit trees!
Each group presents their idea for funding to the audience (max 4 mins) — for example to run a workshop, buy some tools, hold a community event — and then the audience vote for the ones they like best. Twenty groups can each win up to £400. Bring a team of supporters for a better chance!

If your group does want to pitch you must register by emailing stephanie@theorchardproject.org.uk.
This event is supported by the Mayor of London as part of the Mayor’s National Tree Week 2019 planting programme.
