Otley Chevin Orchard Project juicing days

Skelton Grange Autumn Festival

An array of autumnal craft and harvest based activities and games – to make the most of what looks like a bumper harvest season! We’ll be celebrating all things apple – with activities including apple picking, apple pressing, apple tasting, and making (and eating) some delicious apple based snacks. There will also be a range of other autumnal activities, including the much anticipated return of the big Skelton Grange conker competition!

One Day Introduction to Permaculture
Saturday 14 October. Hollybush Conservation Centre, Kirkstall LS5 3BP
The day gives you an opportunity to learn about the different aspects of Permaculture, focussing on the general framework of ethics and principles,
as well as some design tools. There will be different exercises during the day, and lots of practical examples of how to apply permaculture to yourself, your house, garden and community. We will also be doing a short design exercise.
Cost: £20-60, depending on your income.
Leeds Urban Harvest, Community Juicing

Do you have surplus apples or pears? Join us to turn some of the city’s abundance into juice – bring your fruit and together we’ll make your juice for you to take home!
You’ll get to take part in the process and of course you’re welcome to donate any surplus fruit or juice so that Leeds Urban Harvest can make use of it.

Join us in learning how to press your own apple juice, bake apple crumble cakes and make your own apple and cheese bread. This is a “pay as you feel” event. Please bring bottles along. Soup will be available on the day for lunch. There will be children’s craft workshops during the afternoon.

Killingbeck Big Apple Bonanza

Two days of apple activities, games and tasty treats. Saturday will include harvesting apples in the wyke beck valley nature reserve including den building, wildlife spotting and games.
Sunday will be a big day of processing the apples into juice, cider and pies. Family activities and produce to take away.
