November may have been a quiet time in the orchard following the activity of October, we’ve harvested all of the fruit, and have celebrated the harvest with apple days across the UK, having a great time playing apple games and drinking plenty of tasty juice and cider!
But now we’re fast approaching the shortest day of the year and as winter fully takes hold and your trees enter dormancy it’s time to get pruning. This can often seem like a daunting task but don’t fear, we’ve got you covered. We’ll be running pruning workshops across the UK, and if your community orchard is based in London you can book a pruning visit from one of our Orchard Mentors.
Read our latest Orchard Leader newsletter for tips and advice about what you can be getting up to in your orchards now, including pruning, looking out for pests & diseases, and planning a Wassail.
Seasons greetings, we’ll see you at a Wassail in the new year!
