Creating a Community Orchard in Alexandra Park, Glasgow

TRAINING FULL

Thanks to everyone for your interest, there are no more places remaining on this training. Keep an eye here on our website and on Facebook for more ways to get involved with community orchards across the UK

Free Community Orchard Design Course starts this Saturday, 29th August, in Glasgow!

Would you like to learn how to grow fruit, meet your neighbours and help to plant an orchard for the benefit of the local community?

We are looking for local people who would like to get involved in designing and planting a community orchard in Alexandra Park, Glasgow.

We will be working with nature to create a community orchard on the edge of a beautiful woodland in Alexandra Park. We want to enhance the park for people and wildlife by designing an edible forest that will be a space for learning, sharing food and relaxing. In a few years time we hope that everyone in the community will be able to harvest apples, pears, plums, damsons, berries, nuts and edible wild plants.

This free training course will give you all the skills you need to design a community orchard from scratch in a way that works with nature and works for people. By the end of the course we will have created a detailed design for the new Helping Britain Blossom community orchard in Alexandra Park, Glasgow, which will be planted in March 2016.
