Our first “pioneers”
Take almost any piece of land in this country and leave it untouched and it will go through a process of change known as “natural succession” to become, in time, a woodland. Towards the start of that long process, come plants called “pioneer species” – the early ones that get the ball rolling.
This week we launch something new – a way to become a member of The Orchard Project. We like to learn from nature in all we do here, so you’re warmly invited to become one of our “pioneer members.”
Launching a membership scheme is a big step for us and we’d love you to join us on the journey. It’s exciting and more than a little nerve-wracking, but these big steps always are.
Joining The Orchard Project means you’ll be helping to support the country’s only national charity dedicated solely to community orchards. You’ll be investing in the future of orchards in the places most people now live – our towns and cities. And you’ll be helping to nurture wildlife, community and heritage all in one.
We’ve created a few different ways you can join us, to make it work for everyone. Pay as you feel, or opt for some added extras as a “Silver Apple” or “Golden Apple” member.
If you’re one of our first 100 to join – our pioneer members – we’ll send you a special gift too, as an extra thank you.
You can become a pioneer member of The Orchard Project here.
Together we can build on the last 9 years of learning and success. You can help us create, restore and support hundreds more orchards in towns and cities across the country. Run more training, like the country’s first accredited course in community orchards that we designed. Build and expand the London cider and juice brand that we developed made from London orchard apples.
And that’s just a taste. With your help we can do even more and together we can build a bigger orcharding family.
One pioneer plant on its own is often small, but when you bring them together they are transformative. Join today and be part of our transformation.
Yours, for the orchards,
Neil and Kath
