Join The Orchard Project for an introduction to fruit tree pruning in one of London’s most urban of orchards at Alara Wholefoods, Camden. The workshop will cover both formative and remedial pruning on apples, pears, medlars and quince trees ranging from 6-13 years old.

Course tutor Lewis McNeill has been pruning professionally for twelve years and has been trained by, and has pruned with some of the best in the business, from RHS to Garden Organic & East Malling Research Centre. Although the focus will be on pruning, with plenty of time for everyone to practice their cuts, Lewis will also tie in considerations for planting, tree care and the permaculture ‘holistic’ approach to orcharding.
Hot drinks and snacks provided, as are tools (feel free to bring your own tools if sharp!). There is a decent cafe on-site for lunch and access to a toilet or bring your own pack lunch if you are happy to eat outdoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather, including gloves if it’s very cold.
Cost £60.00 per person, £45.00 concessions, £25 if you’re an Orchard Project ‘Orchard Leader’ or current CICO student (limited £25 tickets).
