Come and help us plant the new community orchard in Stoneyfields Park!
We will be planting a mix of 10 fruit trees as well as fruit bushes and herbs in this area of the park.
This will be a practical, hands-on day as we plant the new trees in the ground. Some of the tasks will be quite physical, including barrowing woodchip, digging the ground with spades and using a tool to drive in posts. Other tasks will be less physical, including placing the trees in their new homes and creating a map. Please come along for the enjoyment of coming together with community even if you are not planting the trees!
Dress appropriately for the weather and wear outdoor shoes. We will provide gloves and all the tools. No previous experience necessary as we will talk you through the planting process before we get started. Light refreshments will be provided, but please bring a bottle of water and anything else you need to be comfortable. All ages welcome, but under 18s will need to attend with an adult.
