Community orchards offer fresh, healthy and free fruit for everyone to enjoy, and they are spaces for people to gather and spend time in nature. Help us create a new orchard in Cheetham Park. This is a great opportunity to get outdoors and stay active and warm in the winter months, as well as a chance to meet other people from your community.

We will be planting, and then caging and mulching the newly planted trees.
The location of the new orchard is just to the right hand-side of the Elizabeth Street entrance, in front of the nursery. What 3 Words: kite.pits.heavy
Some of the tasks will be quite physical including barrowing woodchip, digging the ground with spades and using a tool to drive posts in. Other tasks will be less physical including placing the trees in their new homes. Please come along for the enjoyment of coming together with community even if you are not planting the trees!
Remember to dress for the weather and wear outdoor shoes. We will provide gloves and all the tools. No previous experience necessary as we will talk you through the planting process before we get started. Light snacks and hot and cold refreshments will be available, but please bring anything else you may need to be comfortable.
