Join us for an orchard care day over at Cheetham park, Cheetham Hill Manchester. The park has a community orchard planted lovingly by folks one year ago, and it is now time to do the first stage of pruning on any trees that are tall enough. We will also be weeding around the base of the trees and adding more mulch.
You will receive free training on how to do formative pruning on the young fruit trees, which will help to create the shape and height of the tree we want, no prior experience necessary. All ages welcome but under 18s must have an adult with them during the day.
Please bring lunch and warm, outdoor clothing. There are no toilets onsite, we will provide refreshments and all tools, but if you have any secateurs and gloves please bring them along!
