Sunday 24th November 2019 12 - 5pm
Redmond Community Centre, Woodberry Down, N4 2HF
If you are involved in a Community Orchard, or you want to create one, this is the event you have been waiting for!
As part of National Tree Week, The Orchard Project is teaming up with the Mayor of London to help community groups create or improve urban orchards.
Come along to The London Community Orchard Microfunder to enjoy talks, workshops, a buffet lunch, cider tasting, and to network with other groups.
You can also win up to £400 to improve your community orchard, or to help you create a new one!
A “community orchard” contains at least 5 top fruit or nut trees and is open to the local community. Does your group want to create an orchard, or do you need some money to run a workshop, hold a community event, or buy some tools or equipment for an existing orchard? If so, you can pitch your proposal for up to £400 at the Microfunder, and everyone present votes for their favourites.
- If you would like to attend the Microfunder please book your free place here.
- If you would like to pitch a proposal, please email your idea to stephanie@theorchardproject.org.uk by October 31st.
- If you would like to plant a new orchard you can also sign up to one of our two free Orchard Design Workshops taking place earlier in November. We will help you plan your orchard AND give you 5 free fruit trees and a starter kit! More details and booking here.
This event is supported by the Mayor of London as part of the Mayor’s National Tree Week 2019 planting programme.
