Do you have an overgrown fruit tree in your garden, or community orchard, that you don’t know how to tackle? Is it getting too big for you to prune with a hand saw? Are you worried you might do more harm than good?
At this workshop you will learn:
- the principles and practicalities of pruning overgrown old fruit trees
- the correct tools for the job and how to use them safely
- the value of old fruit trees and how to manage a veteran orchard
Everyone will get hands-on practise pruning. Handout provided.
Refreshments provided but please bring a packed lunch.
This workshop takes place in the beautiful veteran orchard at St Joseph’s Church in Highgate. It is a short walk up from Archway underground station on the northern line. If the weather is forecast to be very bad we may postpone (which is why we have asked for your phone number in the booking form).
£50/£35 concessions. To qualify for a concessionary place you should be unemployed, a student or very low-waged.
