Glasgow Green Community Orchard, Glasgow -AND- Alexandra Park Food Forest, Glasgow
Now is the time to check over your fruit trees after all this hot weather and check what care they need, as well as getting any summer pruning done that needs done.
Lear how to prune trees that need pruned in summer (plums and cherries) to give a good form and good fruiting with orchard keeper and nurseryman Tom Watson from Leith Community Crops in Pots. You will also have Fergus Walker from Helping Britain Blossom on hand to assist, guide and advise. Under their supervision and guidance you’ll learn how to assess trees, make cuts and help this community orchard thrive for many generations to come. Includes a session on how to sharpen your tools.
Tools and work gloves provided. Lunch provided at Ally Park.
NB. This event takes place across two locations. If you want to come to both, please take a note of the addresses and times. You will need to make your own way between them – come and join us on a cycle tour!
