Wednesdsay, 14th March, 10:00 – 12:30 GMT
Water Works Orchard. A736, Barrhead, G78 1TH
Planted in 2016 this amazing orchard of 250 trees really needs a good prune! You’ll get hands on a practical experience in making the right cuts to promote healthy trees, strength and the right shape for your trees as well as advice and experience in year-round maintenance of community orchards.
The workshop will be taught by orchard keeper and nurseryman Tom Watson from Leith Community Croft Tree Nursery. You will also have Helping Britain Blossom’s own project manager Fergus Walker on hand to assist, guide and advise. Under their supervision and guidance you’ll quickly be assessing trees, making cuts and helping this community orchard thrive for many generations to come.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all participants.
