Join us as we celebrate London Tree Week 2016 with this summer evening gathering in one of our community orchards; the Wenlock Barn Estate near Old Steet.
There will be an informal introduction to community orchards as we talk about the Urban Orchard Project’s work and philosophy.
We’ll discuss how we can observe nature to get the most out of fruit trees in difficult urban conditions.
As part of the evening help us plant some Bocking 14 comfrey around the trees to help build fertility into the orchard to minimise the need for external sources of nutrition.
Find out more about our ambitious plan, kickstarting during London Tree Week 2016, to plant comfrey around every one of the thousands of the fruit and nut trees that we have helped to plant in London since our first planting at Wilton Estate in Hackney in 2009 here
The Wenlock Barn Estate orchard can be found on the corner of Wenlock Street and Cropley Street, London, N1 7PJ.
