Wed 30 May 2018 10:30 – 14:30 BST
The London Wildlife Trust Centre For Wildlife Gardening. 28 Marsden Road, London. SE15 4EE
Caring for your community orchard is not just about watering the trees!
(Though it certainly is about that too!)
It’s about bringing your community into the orchard, and bringing the benefits of the orchard into your community. It’s also about building relationships and enriching neglected spaces. And as some applewise gran might have said: “If you care for your community, the community will care for your orchard”.
This free half-day course is a chance for both sapling and mature community orchardists to meet and (re)learn the essentials of tree care, community engagement, and making the best of their fruitful spaces. It’s also an opportunity to share experiences and eat together, as the session concludes with a delicious lunch. All in the beautiful setting of the award winning Centre for Wildlife Gardening in Peckham.
The lunch will be vegetarian. If you have any specific dietary requirements, or have any other questions about the event, do please email Ryan at ryan@theorchardproject.org.uk
