Barking Park Orchard Care day – 20th March

20th March 2018

The orchard in Barking Park, at the east end of the lake

20/03/18:

Join us for the second of three sessions in this orchard. The aim is to train local people up in orchard skills so that they might help to look after this community orchard in the future so that it remains healthy and bountiful, providing free fruit for all. We’ll focus on nature-friendly organic practices that regenerate the soil and work with nature, not against her.

In this session we’ll focus on planting soft fruit (gooseberries and red currants) bushes around the trees and replacing any lost trees.

The sessions run from 10am-2pm and are free to join, with all tools provided. Please come dressed for the weather.

The orchard in Barking Park is located at the east end of the lake.
