Main Street Carlton, WF3 3RW Wakefield
Carlton Social Club Wakefield – 17th September 2017 – 11am-3.30pm
There’s over 2,000 varieties of apples grown in Britain but what have you got growing in your orchard?
Our trainer, Clifford Cain, will use the development of apple identification over the last 150 years to help you understand what to look for. Taking in Robert Hogg’s 1884 “The Fruit Manual”, Edward Bunyard, John Bultitude, Joan Morgan, the numerical key based on the work of French Pomologist, Rene Marlaud.
Apple identification helps the orchard carer understand when best to pick the fruit and how long they might keep for.
