Don’t let good apples down, donate your unloved fruit and help save the orchards of the UK.
London Unites Under One Apple Donation Drive
Each harvest season, The Orchard Project saves the city’s unwanted apples and pears, in order to create delicious cider and apple juice. This year, to ensure that our impact is greater than ever, we are collaborating with London’s first cidery, Hawkes!
For the first time, London will unite under one apple donation drive. Together, we will spare the capital’s apples and pears from the fate of the compost bin, and instead, celebrate them as This Is London Cider. As part of Hawkes’ wider series, This Is London will present pure urban terroir, and truly the only way to taste the capital’s gardens.
With the help of Hawkes’ cider wizards, we at The Orchard Project will be able to focus on what we do best – empowering and educating local communities and bringing accessible fresh fruit back into the capital. Profits from the sale of this new cider will be reinvested into our community planting and restoration projects.
As before, for every 3KG of fruit, you’ll get one 330ml can of cider – this time, Hawkes’ very own Urban Orchard cider.
Simply bring your apples to one of our donation locations below, we will weigh and take some info. For every 3kg donated, you’ll leave with an Urban Orchard cider and the knowledge that your apples are being used to help stop food waste

What about the fruit?
We can take apples and pears of all shapes and sizes, as long as the trees/fruits are unsprayed, and from London. If they are from the ground make sure they aren’t too bruised! Creepy crawlies and a little bit of dirt is fine with us
Still have questions?
