At The Orchard Project we are very proud of the orcharding work we’ve done and the impacts we’ve had so far. We’ve achieved much of it thanks to the support we’ve had and the partnerships we’ve developed with others.
That includes the many volunteers, orchard leaders and community groups we work with across the country. It also includes the many organisations that support us as funders and partners.
We’re always open to new supporters and friends. If you are an individual or a representative of an organisation and you would like to work with us, develop a strategic partnership with us or generally support us, we’re more than happy to talk. You can get in touch with Nicole as a first step or you can make a donation to our work here.
Some of our funders and partners
Heritage Lottery Fund are the lead funder for our major Celebration of Orchards project. Thanks to their support, we are restoring 30 of London’s forgotten orchards, creating a juicing and cider enterprise and building a powerful education programme and accredited orcharding course.
Heineken UK partner with us to support community orchards across the UK. Initially, we developed and delivered Helping Britain Blossom, – one of the UK’s largest ever community orchard programmes. The programme activities still continue now under The Orchard Project name. So far, we have created and restored over 140 community orchards across England and Scotland, upskilling enthusiastic community groups to care for each one.
Ernest Cook Trust have funded a brilliant schools project in London supporting two schools to build their existing orchards in to the curriculum. We have worked with the children on hands-on learning and built the confidence of the teachers to use the spaces to their fullest potential. We’ve also shared the curriculum resources widely for other schools to benefit.
GreenCup Coffee – The Orchard Project is the official charity partner of GreenCup Coffee. 50p from every kilo of all coffee they sell goes to supporting our work across the country and they also join us at some of our orchard events from time to time to give out free coffee.
Frank P Matthews – We helped name the “Core Blimey” apple variety developed by our friends at Frank P Matthews nursery. Now every Core Blimey apple sold by them delivers a donation to The Orchard Project.
Postcode Local Trust generously supported the first year of our Celebration of Orchards project. They are also funding a community orchard planting project across five London sites including two schools.
If you would like to support The Orchard Project, donate to our work, or discuss an idea for a strategic partnership, we are all ears. Please get in touch.
