The Orchard Project is the only national charity dedicated solely to the creation, restoration and celebration of community orchards.
We work closely with community groups in hubs around England and Scotland helping to design and create new orchards that will last for decades to come. We offer training, we run fantastic orchard celebration events and we help groups make the most of their bumper harvests.
We do it because community orchards offer an inspiring and powerful way to bring communities together in a project that lasts for decades. And we do it because community orchards enhance local green spaces, help wildlife thrive, offers ways to gain skills and knowledge and offer us all a source of fresh, healthy, local food. We’re about people as much as fruit trees.
Through our orchard projects, people have met their neighbours for the first time and picked fresh fruit for the first time, urban spaces have been transformed and wildlife has been enhanced.
And because fruit trees last for decades, sometimes centuries, we’re leaving a legacy for generations to come.
We’re always busy, always ambitious and always keen to work with new people. We’re on a bit of a mission, which is why we call ourselves a project. If you’d like to get involved or support us, we’d love to hear from you.
